Feeling “hormonal?” We can help!

Life can be pretty stressful, and we all have unique coping skills, including exercising, treating ourselves to a little “retail therapy,” or simply relaxing at home and taking a hot bubble bath. But as you approach middle age, you’re far more likely to get tired more easily, struggle with your weight, or experience rapid mood swings. These symptoms often indicate a hormone imbalance, which is easily treatable by our all-woman team at Central Clinic For Women!
We’re conveniently located on the Baptist Health campus in Little Rock, and we’re proud to offer Biote Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) for both men and women. Hormone imbalances affect millions of Americans each year, and BHRT works by identifying the root cause of each patient’s complex conditions and delivering bioidentical hormones to replace those that were lost during the aging process. Here are a few frequently asked questions about hormone replacement therapy, and we’re always a phone call away when you’re ready to schedule your initial consultation with one of our healthcare professionals.
How will I know I have a hormone imbalance?
We all begin to fatigue more easily and struggle to maintain a healthy weight as we approach middle age. It’s essential to schedule an annual physical with your primary care physician to evaluate your overall health, and you should also let her know if you’re having hot flashes or night sweats, having trouble sleeping, struggling with mental focus, or experiencing decreased libido or discomfort during intercourse. Your OB-GYN can also help you determine the right time to begin including annual mammograms as part of your annual well-woman exam.
How are hormone imbalances treated?
The BHRT treatment process administers bioidentical hormones through subcutaneous pellets that are about the size of a grain of rice. The pellets are inserted into the upper buttocks area using a simple and painless outpatient procedure.
How long does hormone optimization usually take?
Each patient is different, and full hormone optimization may take up to six months. Some patients begin experiencing relief in as few as four weeks. Call your doctor immediately if you encounter any unexpected side effects after the procedure.
